The DJI Talos T60X OEM Payload Adapter Cable is the short link cable that joins the Talos T60X's payload connection to the aircraft-side wiring. As the supplier photograph shows, it is a single black cable with an orange right-angle connector at one end, a white marker band near it, and a straight orange connector at the other end behind a black ribbed strain-relief boot. It is a payload-system cable: it adapts one connection to another so the payload and the aircraft can talk, and it is one of the cables most often connected and disconnected in service. It is listed by the supplier for the Talos T60X. Send us a photograph of the label on the part you removed and we will match it before it ships. Operators usually come looking for a Talos T60X payload adapter cable, payload cable or payload connection lead after the payload has stopped being recognised, after intermittent payload faults that come and go with movement, or after a connector has been damaged when the payload was removed.
Ares Acres LLC is a U.S.-based authorized DJI retailer supplying agricultural spray aircraft, replacement components, and field-ready inventory to American commercial operators, service centres, and applicators.
FREE & FAST Shipping is included for all U.S. customers.
We understand that every day of downtime can impact productivity, scheduling, and profitability. That's why we focus on providing fast fulfillment, responsive customer support, and reliable access to the parts operators need most.
Ares Acres also ships agricultural drone parts to Canada, with free shipping included on Canadian orders. Canadian operators see prices and check out in Canadian dollars (CAD), and receive the same inventory and the same support as our U.S. customers — one authorized DJI retailer serving the United States and Canada, all of North America, from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Send us a photograph of the label on the part you removed and we will match it before it ships. A photograph showing both ends of the old cable is all the match needs.
One cable, supplied complete. Both connectors and the boot are moulded to the cable as one assembly. There is no separate boot or connector to fit.
Not included: the payload, any other payload-system or spraying-system cable, cable ties, clips, screws or brackets. Those are separate parts.
Nothing is included because it appears in a photograph. The photograph shows the cable itself and nothing else.
The payload adapter cable is the link between two connections that do not meet on their own. One end plugs into the aircraft-side wiring; the other end meets the payload connection. Everything the aircraft and payload say to each other through that connection passes along this one short cable.
On the Talos T60X the cable has an orange right-angle connector at one end and a straight orange connector at the other, set behind a black ribbed boot, as the supplier photograph shows. The two ends are different shapes because they meet different sockets in different places. A white marker band sits near the right-angle end.
The ribbed boot is there for a reason. It is a strain relief: it spreads the bending that happens where a stiff connector meets a flexible cable, so the conductors inside do not fold at one point every time the cable moves. It is also the place where this kind of cable most often fails, because that is where the bending is concentrated.
What the adapter cable lives with, over a working season:
What ends its life is almost always mechanical: conductors fatigued inside the boot or at the right-angle end, a connector whose latch or housing has broken, or pins damaged or corroded. The first of those cannot be seen from outside, which is the most important thing to know about the part.
The adapter cable's engineering role is to make a reliable, sealed link between the aircraft-side wiring and the payload connection. It does that in four ways:
The cable has no electronics of its own and no setting. If the payload is not recognised, the cable is one of four places to look: the payload, the cable, the aircraft-side socket and the connectors at each end.
What the payload adapter cable does not do:
A payload adapter cable rarely fails where you can see it. The jacket looks fine, the connectors look fine, and the cable works on the bench. The failure is inside, where a conductor has been bent at the same point hundreds of times until it cracks, and that point is usually inside the strain-relief boot or at the right-angle end.
A conductor cracked inside the boot still touches itself when the cable lies still. It parts when the cable is bent, vibrated or pulled. That is why the fault comes and goes: the payload is recognised on the ground and lost in flight, or lost when the payload is moved and recovered when it settles.
That makes the fault easy to blame on something else. The payload is suspected, the aircraft is suspected, firmware is suspected, and the cable that looked fine is left in place.
The fault pattern that points at the cable:
Inspect and test the cable first:
Signs that point somewhere else:
Flex-test the cable first, while that information is still cheap. It takes a minute on the ground, and a cable that faults when flexed has answered the question.
When the cable is the fault, replace it. A cable with a cracked conductor inside the boot cannot be repaired by taping the outside, and the crack will only get worse.
Replace the payload adapter cable when inspection or testing confirms one of these:
Inspect these as well, because they produce similar symptoms:
There is no published service interval for the adapter cable. It is replaced when it is damaged or fails a flex test.

Maintenance between jobs. Unplug the adapter cable by its connector bodies every time the payload comes off, never by the cable or the boot. Keep connector halves closed or covered while they are apart. A quick flex test on the ground after any payload change catches a tiring cable before it drops the payload in flight.
The payload adapter cable is for operators and technicians restoring a reliable payload connection on the Talos T60X:
This is not the part you need if:
The payload adapter cable is short, plain and handled more than almost any other cable on the aircraft. Every payload change bends it at both ends, and the boot that protects it concentrates its eventual failure in one place you cannot see.
That is the operational cost of a tired adapter cable. The fault is intermittent, it shows up in flight rather than on the bench, and the cable looks perfect. The payload, the aircraft and the software all get suspected first, and the aircraft loses days to a fault that a one-minute flex test would have found.
Testing the cable first reverses that. Flex it at the boot and at the right-angle end with the payload connected on the ground. If the fault follows the flex, the repair is one short cable.
A cable whose boot has split or hardened is worth replacing even if it still works. The boot is the only thing spreading the bend, and without it the conductors fatigue faster at the connector.
When the test points at the cable, replace it, route it with a gentle bend at both ends, and unplug it by the connectors from then on. That is what keeps the next one from failing in the same place.

What is the Talos T60X payload adapter cable? The short link cable between the aircraft-side wiring and the payload connection. It has an orange right-angle connector at one end and a straight orange connector behind a ribbed boot at the other.
Which aircraft does it fit? It is listed by the supplier for the Talos T60X. The Talos T60X is the only aircraft it is listed for.
What is the part number? Send us a photograph of the label on the part you removed and we will match it before it ships.
My payload drops out in flight but works on the ground. Is it the cable? Often. A conductor cracked inside the boot or at the right-angle end touches when still and parts under vibration. Flex-test the cable on the ground.
How do I flex-test it? With the payload connected and the aircraft powered on the ground, gently bend the cable at the boot and at the right-angle end and watch whether the payload drops out.
The cable looks perfect. Can it still be faulty? Yes. The usual failure is inside the boot, where it cannot be seen. A cable can look new and still have a cracked conductor.
What is the ribbed black part? A strain-relief boot. It spreads the bending where the cable meets the straight connector so the conductors do not fold at one point.
Are both ends the same? No. One end is a right-angle connector and the other is straight behind the boot. Each meets its own socket.
Can I tape a split boot? Tape on the outside does nothing for conductors cracking inside. Replace a cable with a split or hardened boot.
Is the payload included? No. The cable is supplied on its own.
Does it replace the spray tank or weight sensor cable? No. Those are separate cables with their own jobs and their own connectors.
Can I fit it myself? Yes. Note which end goes where, plug each connector into its own socket until it latches, leave a gentle bend at each end, and refit the ties and clips.
How do I keep the new one from failing? Unplug it by the connector bodies, never by the cable, and leave it a gentle bend at both ends rather than pulled tight.
Is there a service interval? No published interval. Replace it when it is damaged or fails a flex test.
Is it a genuine DJI part? Yes. It is a genuine DJI OEM payload-system cable, brand new.
