What exactly are the five parts in this kit?
This listing states five OEM laser radar service parts and does not break them out individually. If your repair hinges on one particular item, do not guess from the photograph. Send us your aircraft model and serial along with a picture of the piece you are trying to replace or the callout from your parts diagram, and we will check it against the kit contents before you order rather than after.
The window is spotless and the aircraft still hunts for height. What is next?
Work outward from the optic. Confirm the fault repeats over hard, dry, flat ground rather than only over dark or wet fields. Check that the module has not shifted on its mount and that no fastener has backed off. Check the connector and the cable, and flex the run gently while the aircraft is powered to see whether the fault comes and goes. Then look for internal haze as the part warms up, which is the sign that moisture has already got past the seals.
Can I clean the optical face with alcohol or glass cleaner?
Not on the strength of general advice, and this listing does not publish an approved cleaner. Solvents attack plastics and optical coatings, and the damage does not undo. Safe practice is to flood the loose dirt off with clean water first so nothing gets dragged across the surface, then lift what is left with a fresh, damp, lint free cloth and no pressure. If a residue will not come off that way, ask before you reach for a solvent.
The module shows as offline. Will this kit fix it?
Almost certainly not. Offline means the aircraft cannot talk to the module at all, and that is a wiring, connector, or electronics fault rather than an optical or sealing one. Before ordering anything, check the connector at both ends for a bent or corroded pin, look at the cable along its whole run for a pinch or a chafe, and confirm the fault follows the module rather than the harness. This kit restores a working assembly; it does not revive a dead one.
Height hold is fine over grass but poor over freshly worked ground. Is the sensor failing?
Probably not. Dark, freshly tilled soil absorbs far more of the outgoing light than grass or concrete does, and loose cloddy ground scatters what does come back. A sensor that is perfectly healthy will look less confident over that surface than over a pad. Compare the two surfaces deliberately at the same height and speed. If it is steady on the pad and only soft over black ground, the assembly is doing what a laser can do, and the answer is flight planning rather than parts.
How do I confirm the sensor is aimed correctly after refitting?
Put the aircraft on flat, level ground, restore the witness marks you made on the bracket, and check by eye from the side and the front that the module sits the way it did in your before photographs. Then let the aircraft check itself: power up, confirm no sensor errors, run the laser radar or sensor check your airframe provides, and compare the height it reports at rest against a measured height. Anything that reads steadily but wrong is an aim or a stack-up problem, not a signal problem.
