Do a ground run at meaningful load, power down, and compare terminal temperatures to one another with an infrared thermometer. The joint that runs warmer than its neighbors while carrying similar current is where the power is going.

A terminal is discolored. Do I need anything besides the board?

Look at the other half of that joint, because both sides ran hot. The lug, connector, or wire end that mated to the discolored terminal has taken the same heat, and heat-damaged copper and insulation do not recover. Plan on replacing the mating hardware or the affected harness end as well. A new board bolted to a cooked lug rebuilds the original fault, and it will show up again in a matter of flights rather than seasons.

Can I clean corrosion off the board and keep flying it?

Surface residue on an otherwise sound assembly can be cleaned. Actual corrosion cannot be undone. Once fertilizer salts and moisture have attacked the conductors or crept under a terminal, the damage continues under whatever you clean and coat it with, and on a board carrying the aircraft's full current that failure mode is heat rather than a quiet dropout. Clean it to inspect it, then judge the metal, not the film on top of it.
