Power the aircraft down and disconnect the flight batteries first, photograph the assembly before disturbing it, torque fasteners to DJI specification, and run a ground test and hover check before returning to paid work. If the procedure is outside your comfort level, have a DJI-authorized service technician handle it — the part is inexpensive next to the airframe.

What if I order the wrong part?

Contact us. Unused parts in original condition are returnable. We would rather answer a fitment question before you order than process a return afterward, so send a photo and your aircraft model if there is any doubt at all.

How do I tell a blinded screen from one that is just dirty?

Rinse it and hold it up to the light. Dirt washes off and leaves an even field of open cells. A blinded screen keeps dark patches after rinsing, and those patches are chemically bonded deposit sitting in the weave. The other tell is behavior: a dirty screen goes back to normal fill time after cleaning, while a blinded one is slow again within a load or two because most of its face is no longer passing liquid.

How many times can one of these be washed and reused?

There is no fixed number, because it depends entirely on what is going through it. A screen used on clean liquid mix from a treated supply can be rinsed and returned to service many times. One used on wettable powders or silty pond water may reach the end of its useful life in a fraction of that. Judge each one by backlight and by fill time rather than by a count, and retire it the moment the weave shows distortion or the residue stops rinsing out.

Can I fly without the screen if I pre-filter at the fill hose?

It is not an equivalent substitute. A hose strainer catches what is in the water, but the undissolved product, residue clumps, and bits of packaging that come off the mix side never pass through it, and those enter the tank directly. The screen sits at the tank opening because that is the only point every input passes through. Pre-filtering at the hose is a good addition to it, not a replacement for it.

The tank fills slowly but the screen backlights clean. What else should I check?

Work outward. Check the strainer at the end of your fill hose and the pump on your nurse tank, since a partially blocked supply side looks identical from the operator's position. Then check the tank vent: if the level surges, the tank gulps, or the fill stalls and restarts, air is not getting out of the tank fast enough and the inlet is not your problem. Replacing screens will not fix either of those.

Why did my new screen deform on the first fill?

Almost always the fill hose. Resting the hose end on the mesh puts the entire flow onto a few square inches and pushes the weave out of shape, and on a high-volume fill it can do that in one load. Hold the hose clear of the screen face or use a diffuser, and check that the rim seated properly and was not pinched under the lid gasket, because a rim that is caught rides up under flow and takes a set.

Should I change the screen when I switch products?

It is cheap insurance and worth doing. A screen carrying dried residue from the previous product introduces that residue into the next load, which matters when the two are not compatible and matters again when you are spraying a sensitive crop after a hot herbicide. Fitting a fresh screen at changeover costs seconds, removes one contamination path entirely, and gives you a clean baseline for judging fill times on the new mix.

Debris got past a torn screen. What should I check besides the tank?

Flush the tank out and then work down the flow path in order: the pump inlet and its strainer, the in-line mesh filter elements, the solenoid valves, the flow meter, and finally the nozzle strainers and tips. Grit that reached the pump can score it without any outward sign, so pay attention to whether flow and pressure came back to normal after the flush. Debris rarely stops at the first obstruction it meets.
