The light does nothing when I try to switch it on. Is it dead?
Check the control before you check the part. Underside lighting is commonly tied to a setting or an automatic behaviour rather than a plain on and off switch, and it can also be suppressed while the aircraft is in certain states. Take the machine somewhere genuinely dark, work through the lighting control as the manual describes, and confirm the aircraft is commanding the light on. Only then does a dark module count as a failure worth replacing.
There is water or fog inside the lens. Can I dry it out and keep flying it?
You can dry it, but the module is finished. Reseat and inspect the connector first, then flex the lead by hand with the light on to find the section that provokes it, and check the mount is genuinely tight.
If the aircraft has more than one underside module, should I replace them all together?
Not automatically, but be aware they have aged together. Modules that have flown the same hours in the same recirculated spray are usually at a similar point in their life, so replacing one often leaves a visibly brighter patch and a noticeably dimmer one.
