Yes, if you want it to stay cleared. Reseating works by scraping oxide off the contact surfaces, which is why the fault disappears, and it is also why it returns. Fretting corrosion is caused by vibration working those two surfaces against each other, and nothing about reseating changes that. A pack that has been reseated once and started reporting again within a few cycles is telling you plainly what it needs.

I fitted a new plug and the fault is still there. What did I miss?

Look at the other half of the joint, and at the wire. Check the header on the motherboard for a pin that is bent, dark, pitted, or sitting lower than its neighbors, because a perfect new plug on a damaged header behaves exactly like a bad plug. Then flex each sense wire gently just behind its terminal while watching the reading. Conductors break inside intact insulation right at the crimp, and the outside of the wire gives nothing away.

How do I know the new plug is properly seated?

The latch should engage with a positive click or detent, and a gentle pull on the housing, never on the wires, should not move it. The connector is keyed, so if it does not go in easily it is not aligned and force will only damage the header. Once it is home, secure the harness so vibration is carried by the routing and its retention rather than by the connector, then prove the repair with a full charge cycle.

Why does the set contain three plugs?

Because the conditions that kill one plug are working on every pack in the fleet at the same rate. Fretting, corrosion, and heat at the contacts come from vibration, humidity, and hard cycling, and packs that fly the same aircraft through the same season share all three. A shop that repairs one pack today usually sees the next one within weeks, so the set is sized to keep a bench stocked rather than to service a single battery.

Is the balance plug the same thing as the pack's main power connector?

No, and they are not interchangeable in any sense. The main connector carries the pack's full current to the aircraft and is physically large with heavy contacts. The balance plug is a small multi-way connector on fine wires whose entire job is to let the motherboard read individual cell voltages. If the connector in front of you is carrying heavy conductors, it is not this part, and it should not be diagnosed the same way.
