The DJI Agras T100 update and connectivity stack brings several systems together: aircraft firmware, remote-controller firmware, DJI Agras, DJI Assistant 2, OcuSync, optional cellular connectivity, Enhanced Transmission and Remote ID. These systems are related, but they should not be diagnosed as one system. A failed firmware update, an unlinked controller, weak OcuSync, unavailable 4G and a Remote ID preflight failure are different conditions with different first checks.
Quick Answer: Update the T100 through DJI Agras when the aircraft and remote controller are linked and the controller has internet access, or use DJI Assistant 2 to update an individual aircraft or controller. Updating T100 firmware through DJI Agras
The manual’s normal multi-device update workflow begins with the aircraft and remote controller powered on, linked, and the remote controller connected to the internet. When DJI Agras detects newer firmware, the Home Screen presents an update prompt. Open the firmware update page and use the option to update the selected devices.
- Power on the T100 and remote controller and confirm they are linked.
- Connect the remote controller to the internet.
- Open the firmware-update prompt in DJI Agras.
- Select the devices to be updated and begin the update.
- Keep all relevant devices powered and connected while the update runs.
- When complete, restart the aircraft and remote controller manually as directed by the manual.
During the update, the aircraft’s front indicators blink yellow. DJI identifies solid green as the successful-update indication and solid red as an update failure. If the update fails, retry the update rather than treating the indicator as an unrelated aircraft fault.

Updating with DJI Assistant 2
DJI Assistant 2 provides an individual-device update path. The manual says the aircraft and remote controller are updated separately in this workflow and that multiple DJI devices should not be updated simultaneously through Assistant 2.
For the aircraft, the manual directs the user to the USB-C connection behind the front bottom cover. Connect the device to an internet-connected computer, power the device on, open DJI Assistant 2, sign in, choose Firmware Update, select the required version and begin the update. A successful update produces an update-success message and the device restarts.
This is useful diagnostically because it separates a DJI Agras/network workflow problem from an individual-device firmware path. It does not, however, justify interrupting power or disconnecting hardware mid-update.
Firmware-update rules that prevent avoidable failures
DJI’s update notices are straightforward: check device connections, remove the propellers before the firmware update, fully charge the aircraft battery and remote controller, and do not remove accessories or power off devices while the update is in progress. The manual also notes that the remote controller can become unlinked from the aircraft after an update, in which case the correct next step is to relink it.

The manual also covers updating compatible charging/generator equipment through a USB-A connection on the remote controller. Treat charger/generator firmware as its own device-update branch rather than assuming an aircraft update automatically updates every piece of support equipment.
What Enhanced Transmission does
Enhanced Transmission combines the T100’s normal OcuSync transmission path with a supported 4G network path. DJI describes cellular transmission as a way to help maintain control when the OcuSync link is obstructed, affected by interference or challenged by distance.
The important distinction is that 4G is supplemental. The aircraft still has an OcuSync control/transmission system, and the manual’s security rules continue to treat restoration of OcuSync as important. Enhanced Transmission should therefore be thought of as a second communications path, not as permission to plan an operation around cellular connectivity alone.
Hardware and network requirements
The aircraft requires a compatible DJI Cellular Dongle setup. The remote controller can use its own Cellular Dongle or a supported Wi-Fi/hotspot internet path, depending on the configuration. Availability of the hardware and service differs by region, and the manual instructs users to follow applicable local requirements.
For the SIM, DJI strongly recommends a local-carrier 4G nano-SIM. The manual specifically warns against IoT SIM cards because video-transmission quality can be seriously affected, and it warns that SIMs from some mobile virtual network operators can fail to provide the required internet connection. A SIM PIN should be disabled before use.

Installing and enabling Enhanced Transmission
After the Cellular Dongle/network path is available, power on the aircraft and remote controller and first confirm that their normal connection is working. The remote controller also needs internet access. In DJI Agras Operation View, open the video-transmission signal area or the Video Transmission settings and enable Enhanced Transmission.

When the 4G path is available, DJI Agras displays a 4G status icon. The operator should monitor both the normal OcuSync signal and the 4G signal. Seeing a 4G icon does not eliminate the need to monitor the primary transmission environment.
Enhanced Transmission security behavior
The manual includes several behaviors that matter when troubleshooting a communications event:
- Enhanced Transmission should be enabled while OcuSync is active.
- If OcuSync disconnects during flight, Enhanced Transmission cannot then be disabled until the required connection state is restored.
- When operating on 4G alone, restarting the remote controller or DJI Agras can trigger Failsafe Return-to-Home.
- After that restart, the 4G path cannot simply restore normal control by itself; OcuSync must reconnect.
- If the aircraft lands while only the 4G path is available, a takeoff countdown applies. If takeoff does not occur within that window, OcuSync must be restored before the aircraft can take off again.

Remote-controller cellular and hotspot considerations
If the remote controller uses a Cellular Dongle, the manual instructs users to install it correctly and turn off the controller’s Wi-Fi to reduce interference. If a smartphone hotspot is used instead, DJI specifies a 2.4 GHz hotspot band and a 4G mobile-network mode. The manual also cautions against answering calls on the same phone or connecting several unrelated devices to that hotspot while it is being used for the aircraft-control connectivity path.
What weak 4G looks like operationally
DJI recommends using Enhanced Transmission only where 4G service is strong enough to support the connection. When OcuSync is disconnected and cellular signal is weak, the video feed can lag or stutter. The manual instructs operators to return promptly when the cellular link becomes weak or disconnected and not to continue an operation on the assumption that 4G alone will remain adequate.
The same logic applies at night: network delay and changing signal conditions make visual-line-of-sight awareness especially important. If DJI Agras reports weak 4G, treat that prompt as an operating limitation, not a cosmetic warning.
Remote ID on the DJI Agras T100
The U.S. Remote ID appendix states that the T100 complies with 14 CFR Part 89 and performs an automatic Pre-Flight Self-Test (PFST) of its Remote ID functionality before takeoff. The aircraft cannot take off if that PFST fails.

PFST results are visible in DJI Agras. DJI states that Remote ID functionality continues to be monitored from preflight through shutdown, with malfunctions or failures reported in DJI Agras. The operator is instructed to keep the DJI flight application in the foreground and allow the remote controller’s location information.

A successful PFST means the manual’s required Remote ID data-source hardware/software and transmitter-radio checks have passed. It does not mean every unrelated aircraft system has passed a full preflight inspection.
