The DJI Agras T40 established the modern 40 L Agras platform for many commercial operators. The T100S represents a much newer flagship class with more than double the liquid capacity, far higher maximum flow, substantially more spreading payload, heavy lifting and a denser sensing system.
T100S offers 85 L spraying, 40 L/min standard flow, up to 50 L/min optional flow, 90 kg spreading and 95 kg lifting. T40 uses a 40 L tank, about 12 L/min total maximum pump flow and up to 50 kg spreading payload. T100S is the clear capacity and sensing upgrade. T40 remains a proven, smaller platform with mature batteries, parts and repair knowledge—important advantages during narrow Canadian spray windows.

Spray Throughput
T100S carries 45 L more liquid and can move liquid at several times the T40’s maximum pump rate. That can materially increase productivity when the application rate is high enough to make T40 pump capacity or refill frequency the limiting factor.
At low application rates, the difference can be less dramatic. If the crew spends more time moving between small fields than spraying, a larger aircraft does not automatically double hectares per day.
Canadian Pesticide Rules Apply to Both
Health Canada’s 2026 RPAS policy allows products registered for conventional aerial application to be applied by RPAS when the label does not prohibit it and all aerial directions are followed exactly. Neither the T40 nor T100S can override label restrictions, droplet requirements, buffers or spray-volume directions.

Spreading and Lifting
T100S increases spread payload from T40’s 50 kg class to 90 kg and broadens the supported material-size range. It also adds a 95 kg lifting system, creating agricultural logistics work that is outside the T40’s core spray/spread role.
Sensing and Mapping
T40’s radar and binocular vision were advanced for their generation. T100S adds 256-line LiDAR, upgraded radar and richer 3D mapping. The difference is most valuable around Canadian orchards, vineyards, terrain changes, hydro lines and complex farm infrastructure.

Battery Ecosystem and Canadian Downtime
T40 fleets have a major practical asset: installed batteries, charging equipment, generators, spares and repair experience. In a short Canadian application window, a proven platform that can be repaired quickly can be more valuable than a more capable aircraft waiting on an imported component.

Both T40 and T100S agricultural operating weights exceed 25 kg. The T100S launch-market maximum of 149.9 kg is still within Canada’s medium-drone band if the exact aircraft operates at or below 150 kg. For either platform, verify the applicable pilot certificate, registration, airspace permissions and exact safety-assurance declaration requirements.
