DJI D12000iE battery charging startup sequence — Canada edition

DJI D12000iE Activation & Battery Charging Guide: T40, T30 & T20P (Canada)

🇨🇦 CANADA — DJI D12000iE Activation & Battery Charging: T40, T30 & T20P Batteries for Canadian Operators

This Canadian edition is written for Canadian DJI Agras operators across Canada, from the Prairie grain belt of Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba to the row crops of Ontario and Quebec and the orchards and vineyards of British Columbia and Niagara. It covers activating the D12000iE, starting the generator and charging T40, T30 and T20P Intelligent Flight Batteries. The procedure, specifications and warnings below are identical to the original edition linked above — the hardware does not change at the border. What changes for a Canadian operator is the regulatory and purchasing context: the aircraft this DJI D12000iE generator supports falls into Transport Canada’s medium RPAS class (25–150 kg) and flies on an Advanced Operations pilot certificate under the November 2025 rules, with a Special Flight Operations Certificate for anything outside that envelope, and pricing is shown in Canadian dollars. Ares Acres stocks the D12000iE generator, charging output cable and controller referenced in this guide as genuine DJI Agras OEM parts, ships them to Canada with free standard shipping, and shows CAD pricing at checkout.

The D12000iE must be activated before first use, and the startup sequence is designed around battery charging rather than simply starting the engine in isolation. DJI's v1.2 guide lists T40, T30 and T20P Intelligent Flight Batteries as compatible batteries for this manual revision.

Quick Answer: Connect the remote controller to the internet, connect the generator USB-C port to the remote-controller USB-A port, open DJI Agras and enter the charging-device interface to activate the generator. To charge, start with no AC devices connected, verify oil and at least 1 L of fuel, connect a powered-off compatible Intelligent Flight Battery, power the battery on, then hold the engine switch at START for at least three seconds.

Activate the generator

The remote controller must be connected to the internet. Use a USB-C cable from the generator USB-C connector to the remote-controller USB-A connector. Open DJI Agras, enter the charging-device interface from the upper-left area of the main interface and complete activation.

Start the generator for charging

  1. Do not connect electric devices before starting.
  2. Confirm the engine contains oil and the tank contains at least 1 L of fuel.
  3. Connect the charging cable to a powered-off Intelligent Flight Battery.
  4. Power on the battery.
  5. Move the engine switch to START and hold it for at least three seconds, then release.
  6. The switch returns to ON and the generator starts automatically.

Read the battery LEDs

During charging, the battery's four LEDs blink successively. DJI instructs the operator to remove the battery when the four LEDs become solid or turn off, then connect another battery to charge.

Automatic start attempts

Each time the switch is moved to START, the generator can automatically attempt to start up to three times with five seconds between attempts. If it fails after three attempts or stops immediately after starting, connect it to the remote controller and inspect the malfunction information.

Charging cable and control path

If the physical charging lead is damaged, see the D12000iE Generator Charging Output Cable. If diagnostics identify the main controller rather than the cable, see the D12000iE Generator Controller. Do not replace either solely because charging is slow: DJI notes that operating electric devices from the AC outlet while charging reduces battery-charging capacity and extends charging time.

Canadian Operator FAQ: D12000iE Activation & Battery Charging Guide

Does Ares Acres ship the D12000iE generator, charging output cable and controller to Canada?

Yes. Ares Acres ships genuine DJI Agras OEM parts, including the D12000iE generator, charging output cable and controller referenced in this guide, to Canada with free standard shipping, and Canadian customers see CAD pricing at checkout.

Do I need an SFOC to use the DJI D12000iE generator with my DJI Agras in Canada?

The DJI D12000iE generator itself needs no aviation authorization. The DJI Agras aircraft it supports falls into Transport Canada’s medium RPAS class (25–150 kg) under the November 2025 rules and is flown within visual line of sight on an Advanced Operations pilot certificate; a Special Flight Operations Certificate is still required for operations outside that envelope, such as beyond visual line of sight or payloads Transport Canada treats as dangerous goods. Confirm current requirements with Transport Canada and your provincial regulator before operating.

Is this activation and charging different for Canadian operators?

No. The activation and charging described here is identical in every country; only the regulatory framework, the purchasing path and the units used in this guide differ. Confirm current requirements with Transport Canada and your provincial regulator before operating.
