The D14000iE manual specifies the spark-plug model, inspection condition, electrode gap and installation torque. That makes spark-plug service one of the clearest component-level maintenance procedures in the generator manual.

Remove and inspect

Stop the generator and allow it to cool completely. Remove the spark plug with the dedicated spark-plug socket. Replace the plug immediately if the insulator or sealing gasket is broken.

Clean carbon and set the gap

Remove carbon or other deposits with a stiff wire brush. Adjust the electrode until the gap is within 0.6-0.8 mm. DJI states that correct gap and freedom from deposits are necessary for proper engine operation.

Install and torque

Thread the spark plug into the engine by hand for two to three rotations before tightening with the dedicated socket. The recommended final torque is 20-25 N·m. DJI warns that a loose plug can cause engine overheating, while over-tightening can damage the engine threads.
