1. Stop the generator
Oil-level checks begin with the engine stopped.
2. Use a flat surface
A level surface is required for a meaningful reading.
3. Wait 15 minutes after operation
If the engine has just run, wait at least 15 minutes before checking oil.
4. Remove and wipe the dipstick
Clean the dipstick before the reading.
5. Reinsert without screwing in
This detail matters; do not thread it in for the level check.
6. Remove without inverting
Read the oil mark while preserving the true wet level on the dipstick.
7. Add oil if near/below lower limit
Use the recommended oil specification.
8. Tighten dipstick after check
Return the generator to a properly closed state before operation.

9. Recommended oil
DJI specifies SJ 10W-40 for a four-stroke engine, or an equivalent oil meeting or exceeding API SJ.
10. Oil level is a pre-operation item
Check it before each use according to the maintenance schedule.
11. Low-oil protection
The built-in oil sensor may stop engine operation when oil drops below the safety level.
12. Flameout is not automatically starter failure
Confirm oil level and protection state before selecting cranking components.
13. Oil-replacement preparation
Place the generator on a flat surface and run the engine for several minutes to warm the oil.
14. Stop before draining
Do not perform the drain procedure with the engine running.
15. Position a suitable container
Place it under the oil-drain hose before opening the service point.
16. Remove the drain hose
Access the dedicated oil-drain service point.
17. Open the cap counterclockwise
Allow the oil to drain completely.
18. Reinstall the hose/cap
Close and secure the drain point after drainage.
19. Refill through the dipstick opening
Add recommended oil to the upper limit.
20. Do not overfill
Use the upper mark as the target, not an arbitrary extra volume.

21. First oil replacement
The schedule lists the initial replacement after first use at the 20-hour point.
22. Routine replacements
Continue according to the manufacturer schedule.
23. High-temperature operation
DJI notes greater oil consumption in high temperatures and recommends filling to the rated level before each use and shortening the replacement interval.
24. Oil service log
- generator asset ID;
- operating hours;
- oil level before service;
- oil specification;
- replacement date;
- leak/contamination findings;
- next due interval.
25. If engine stops unexpectedly
Check oil condition before replacing Electric Starter or Starter Motor Relay.
26. If oil appears contaminated
Document condition and follow maintenance/service guidance before continued operation.
27. If drain hose/cap is damaged
Do not continue normal operation until the service point can seal properly.
28. Common mistakes
Checking on a slope, screwing in the dipstick for measurement, inverting it before reading, ignoring the 15-minute wait or diagnosing starter failure before checking oil.
29. FAQ
Oil: SJ 10W-40/API SJ or better. Check: every use. After operation: wait 15 min. Dipstick: insert without screwing in. Initial replacement: 20 h.
