DJI D14000iE long term storage sequence

DJI D14000iE Storage & Transportation Guide: 30+ Day Storage Procedure

DJI gives the D14000iE a specific long-term storage procedure when it will not be used for more than 30 days. The workflow removes engine oil and fuel from the service points where long storage can create problems, then moves the generator into a cool, dry and clean location.

Quick Answer: For storage longer than 30 days, warm the generator for 5-10 minutes, stop it and drain the engine oil. Drain the fuel tank through the fuel drain bolt, then remove the high-pressure oil pipe and drain the fuel inside before reinstalling it. After normal operation, wait at least 15 minutes before moving the generator into a vehicle and keep it stable during transport.

Warm the engine, then drain oil

DJI instructs the operator to run the generator for 5-10 minutes before stopping it for oil drainage. Remove the engine-oil drain hose, open its cap counterclockwise, drain all oil, then reinstall and tighten the hose cap. Do not touch hot engine oil.

Drain fuel from the tank and high-pressure pipe

Remove the fuel drain bolt on the bottom of the tank and drain fuel through a funnel into a dedicated container. Reinstall the bolt after fuel is completely drained. Then remove the screws securing the high-pressure oil pipe, drain the fuel in the pipe and reinstall it.

For separately diagnosed fuel-system repairs, active parts include the D14000iE Gasoline Pump, Gasoline Pump Filter and EFI Fuel Injector Nozzle. Storage instructions alone are not evidence those parts need replacement.

Transportation

If the generator has been running, wait at least 15 minutes before loading it into a vehicle. Keep the generator stable during transportation to avoid spilling. Once it is cool and prepared, the Universal Generator Protective Cover can provide an additional physical protection layer.
